Abstract

628,080. Folding tables &c. WILLIAMS, E. R. C. Aug. 18, 1947, No. 22906. [Class 52 (iii)] A self-erecting folding table, stool or stand of gate-leg type having a top 1 has legs 2, 3, 4 hingedly connected to each other by spring hinges 9 and the leg 3 hinged to the top by a spring hinge 16, the legs when folded being housed in a recess 5 in the top 1 and retained by a ball-catch 14, one leg 2 being extended at 6 to allow for the depth of recess 5 when the table is erected. On releasirg the catch 14, the spring hinges 9 and 16 cause the legs and top to move into positions to erect the table. The legs have interfitting tongues, and recesses 7, 8. In a modification the legs are also hinged mid-way along their length to allow further folding.
