Abstract

627,935. Dowel pins. NORRIS, Ltd., C. W., and ENTWISTLE, J. Aug. 20, 1947, No. 23066. [Class 89 (ii)] [Also in Group X] In a wooden door or like frame the horizontal and vertical members are secured by oblong section dowels forced and glued into blind holes of oblong form cut into the face of each member where they abut, the larger side of the oblong being at least twice the length of the shorter. In one form, Fig. 2, the members band c are secured by a parallelsided, rectangular section dowel d, forced and glued into blind holes in the members. In a modification, Fig. 4, the holes are undercut and the dowel, when driven into the hole, is spread at each end by a wedge e. More than one dowel may be provided at each joint.
