Abstract

625,129. Inflatable dinghies. R.F.D. CO., Ltd., and WILLIAMS H. M. L., and WILLIAMS, R. L., [Representatives of WILLIAMS, P. W. L.]. Sept. 10, 1946, No. 27146. [Class 113 (ii)] In a dinghy having an inflatable gunwale 12 of circular, boat-shaped or like plan formation adapted when inflated to support a tensioned bottom sheet 11, and having attached to and disposed around the bottom a plurality of inflatable tubular gas containers 10, the latter are disposed in relative parallel arrangement at spaced intervals from the gunwale and are of increasing cross-sectional area from the outermost to the innermost tube to provide an inclined seat for the occupants. As described, the tubes 10 may be formed from one or more sheets of indiarubber fabric secured at and possibly intermediate their edges to the bottom so as to form a plurality of separate tubes when inflated. The Provisional Specification also described an arrangement in which a single inflatable tube is disposed spirally around the bottom sheet.
