624,645. Attaching knobs &c. to spindles. ROSE, A. G., and ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. Nov. 28, 1946, No. 35281. [Class 44] [Also in Group XXIV] A hand wheel 16 is mounted on a shaft 13 by means of a quick release pin 17 arranged to pass through an end face 18 on the wheel into a central bore in the shaft, the pin being formed with a flange 21 to position the wheel and with a radially movable member or members, e.g. balls 28 engaging in a recess in the bore in the shaft, driving engagement between the wheel and the shaft being provided by a pin 31 on a flange, e.g. the flange of a pulley 12 keyed to the shaft, engaging a bore 32 in the hand wheel. The latter, which may be located in a recess of a guard 11, is thus quickly detachable. The quick release pin may be of the kind described, in Specification 524,297.
