623,558. Respiratory appliances. SIEBE, GORMAN & CO., Ltd., and DAVIS, Sir R. H. June 3, 1946, No. 16851. [Class 81(ii)] A breathing or gas-administering apparatus comprises a pressure reducing valve 1 for controlling the supply of say oxygen or nitrous oxide to a venturi device 5, the throat 17 of which communicates with an adjustable air inlet 18, the mixture of air and gas passing to outlet 20 to the face mask &c. Valve 9 controlling the venturi nozzle is opened against the action of spring 10 on inspiration which causes an inward movement of the flexible wall 14 of a rigid chamber 13, the said movement being transmitted through a spring-loaded pivoted lever 12 and rod 11.
