Abstract
623,162. Superheterodyne circuits. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. April 23, 1947, No. 10869. Convention date, Nov. 3, 1944. [Class 40 (v)] In a frequency-changing valve of the type in which signals are applied to an outer and local oscillations to an inner grid and in which transmission from inner to outer grid by the induction effect is neutralized by means of an external condenser 14 coupling the two grids, transfer of signal energy to the inner grid over this condenser is neutralized by the connection of a further condenser 17 between the outer screen and inner grid. Resistances may be connected in series or shunt with the condensers 14, 17, in order to compensate for transit-time effects. A blocking impedance 16 is placed in series with the screen lead and may comprise a resistance, or alternatively and to prevent the introduction of feedback at oscillator and intermediate frequencies, a circuit tuned to the signal frequency. The condenser 17 may be replaced or supplemented by an inductive coupling between the outer screen and oscillator anode 4.
