Abstract

622,429. Washing - boilers. SLACK, M. H. March 22, 1947, No. 7908. [Class 64(i)] The lid 11 of a domestic washing boiler is provided with a shouldered nut 15 or shouldered boss projecting from the underside of the lid to engage a slot 17 or the like formed in or on the rim 16 of the top or in one of the vertical sides of the boiler casing, to support the lid when the boiler is open. The rim 16 may be bent outwardly in the neighbourhood of the slot. A bolt or stud 14 carrying the handle 10 screws into the nut or boss. According to the Provisional Specification, the slot is keyhole or pear shaped.
