Abstract

621,307. Two-part couplings. DUNN, W. E. Feb. 15, 1947, No. 4452. [Class 38 (i)] In a plug element of a plug-and-socket coupling, wires extending through diverging passages 11, 12, 13, leading from the side of the plug body 1 to points adjacent the heads of pins 8, 9, 10 projecting through said body into an annular channel 2 therein, are clamped on to the pin heads by a ring-shaped projection 6 on a cap 5 which screws into the internally-threaded outer wall 4 of the channel 2. An annular rib 15a on the projection 6 forces the wires into a groove 15 passing across the pin heads. A similar construction for a twopin plug is also described. According to the Provisional Specification, the body may be formed with an external screw-thread engaged by a clamping ring which presses the wires against abutments at their points of entry into the passages so as to take any strain thereon.
