Abstract
603,561. Two-part couplings ; ceiling roses. GASKIN, H. A. Oct. 25, 1945, No. 28146. [Class 38 (i)] A connector comprises a base A adapted to be mounted on a ceiling A<2> or the like and having one or more sockets B secured in holes on an externallythreaded boss A<3> thereon by retaining rings B<1> screwing on the socket ends. Set-screws B<3> for securing the leads c in the sockets are accessible through segmental recesses in the base, these recesses being covered by a threaded ring B<4>. A plug for engaging the sockets comprises a body D carrying plugs D<3>, set-screws D <5> for securing leads c<1> thereto being accessible as in the socket. A cover F is screwed on to the body and the plug is held in engagement with the socket by a cap F which screws on to the boss A<3>. The cover F has a conical recess G<1> or boss co-operating with a conical boss G or recess on the plug body D between which the leads c<1> are gripped. The conical boss may have one or more shallow grooves C<2> in which the leads are located as described in Specification 282,144, [Class 38 (i)]. Specification 583,780 also is referred to.
