[Class 97 (i)] In a contact lens, the corneal portion has at least one surface which is a surface of revolution, the generatrix of which is a Cartesian Oval, preferably an ellipse. Preferably, the surface adjacent the eye is spherical, and the aberration due to this surface is corrected by the front surface of the lens.
