Abstract
619,775. Vibratory mechanism. REBUT, P. C. M. Aug. 28, 1946, No. 25847. Convention date, Jan. 8, 1942. [Class 80 (iv)] [Also in Groups I and II] A vibrator for mortar and concrete or for application to sifting frames, ramming tools or the like comprises one or more solids of revolution such as a cylinder, frustrum of a cone, &c., rolling rapidly over a similar surface of revolution and actuated by a crank shaft or shafts. In the embodiment described, Fig. 8, the main frame A is provided with two cranked shafts C mounted in ball bearings, and provided with heavy cylindrical weights B which rotate on their axes and roll round cylindrical surfaces formed in the frame A by hardened steel cylinders G. The shafts C are rotated by a pulley J and gearing K, L, M, O. A pump S draws oil from a reservoir F in the frame A and distributes it by means of a distributer T to the multiplying gears and to the rotating weights. Fig. 5 shows two discs B, B<1> situated in a common plane and rotating inside the frame A, and Fig. 6 shows a further modification in which two discs B, B<1> situated in different planes rotate inside the frame A. The vibrator is attached to a sifting frame, &c. by means of rods V. Specifications L5101/39, as open to inspection under Sect. 91, and 541,057 are referred to.
