Abstract
617,521. Floors. KAHR, G. July 4, 1946, No. 20038. Convention date, Oct. 18, 1945. [Class 20(iv)] A floor comprises an underfloor 4, Fig. 1, of concrete, for example, and a covering floor 1 composed of laminated boards secured to transverse bars bedded in a filling layer of sand 2 which is in rigidly supporting contact with the covering floor. The laminated boards may have a wearing surface of parquet strips and be supplied as shown in Fig. 4 in units 10 comprising several boards pre-connected by members such as 12 or 13, and with supporting plates 14 which are bedded in the sand and connect adjacent units. In a modification, the supporting bars or plates may rest on the underfloor, in which case they are formed of two or more superposed layers, of which at least one layer is of sound-insulating material such as pressed wood fibre or felt.
