Abstract

A soda lime gas absorbient is prepared by mixing hydrated lime (69.75), kieselguhr (15) copper carbonate (10) or other copper compound such as copper sulphate or cupric or cuprous chloride, but not cupram-monium compounds, sodium hydroxide (5.25) and water at 170 DEG C. to form a paste, drying, granulating, screening, and remoistening to a 11 - 13 per cent water content by passage past an atomizing jet. The figures in brackets indicate preferred parts by weight. Specification 515,287 is referred to.
