Abstract
614,050. Supporting electrodes. NICKEL ANODES & NON-FERREOUS CASTINGS. Ltd., and BEACH, J. S. July 3, 1946, No. 19866. [Class 41] [Also in Group XXV] A hook for suspending an electrode from a conductor rod in an electroplating vat comprises a shank 1 of metal rod of square or round section, the upper end of which is bent over and downwards to form a spring arm 5 gripping the conductor rod 8 resiliently against the shank 1. In the form shown, the hook is crook-shaped being inwardly bowed at 4 to limit the downward movement of the hook on the bar 8. In another form the upper portion of the shank 1 is bent outwards and in a modification of this form the depending arm is at first straight and parallel to the shank 1, then outwardly cranked to provide the gripping arm 5. In a further form the shank 1 is bowed inwards as at 4, the depending arm being straight and vertical. The shank 1 may be screwed or cast into an anode 7 or in the case of a cathode, it may be provided with arms for supporting articles to be plated.
