[Class 77] [Also in Group XXXIII] In an assembly comprising an inflatable boat 3 or the like, an envelope 2 having a sealable water-tight closure 5 defining an opening 4 therein for receiving the boat in folded form and disengageable fastening means on the envelope for securing the closure, the fastening being effected by pins 11 secured to a cable 13 which is connected to a handgrip 14, there is provided means for at least partially inflating the boat, means for releasing the inflating means and disengaging the fastening means, means completing the inflation of the boat, and means for automatically releasing the last-mentioned inflating means actuated upon the partial inflation of the boat. The top part 24 of the boat is inflated by gas from a cylinder 36, and the bottom part 27 by gas from cylinders 39 and 40. The gas release means for the cylinder 36 is connected by a cable 43 to a loop 45 on the cable 13. The release means for the cylinders 39 and 40 are connected by short cables to the sides of the boat when the latter is folded. Pulling the handgrip 14 withdraws the pins 11, frees the opening 4, and releases the cylinder 36 so that the top part 24 of the boat is inflated. The boat releases itself from the envelope, and in unfolding itself releases the cylinders 39 and 40 which inflate the bottom part 27. Righting tubes 32, 33 are inflated simultaneously with the bottom part 27 and these tubes ensure that the boat will float in an upright position.
