Abstract

613,860. Boxes. FIELD, SONS & CO., Ltd., and BURTON, R. Feb. 12, 1946, No. 4290. [Classes 18 and 66] A. rectangular box or carton of cardboard or like material has lines of perforations 6, 7 extending from an apex along adjacent sides and connected by score lines 13, 14 at right angles to the box edge so that, on breaking through the perforated lines, a two sided pouring chute, hinged about the score . lines, is formed. As shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the lines 6, 7 are extended to meet additional score lines 11, 12, defining panels 17, 18 which can be pressed inwards to assist in the formation of the chute. In modified constructions, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown) triangular panels are formed by merging the score lines such as 11, 13 and 12, 14 with the ends of curved perforated lines or by forming perforated extensions of the lines 13, 14 to meet the score lines 11, 12.
