Abstract
613,771. Cloches. KENNEDY, D. F. July 2, 1946, No. 19725. [Class 20(i)] A structure for use in nurturing plants and the like comprises a pair of spaced longitudinal members grooved to receive plates or panes of sheet material, and one or more transverse members by which the longitudinal members are adapted to be connected and supported so that the longitudinal members can be turned about their axes and set in various angular positions relatively to the transverse members. In the form described in the Specification, a cloche comprises a pair of spaced wooden beams 1 of rectangular cross-section which are longitudinally grooved at 2 to receive rectangular panes 3 of glass, and two transverse angle irons 4, one flange of each of which in engageable in slots 5, 6, 7 angularly disposed and arranged to interesect at a common point centrally in the end faces of the beams. Holes 8 in the beams 1 are adapted for the insertion of a crowbar to move the beams about their axes in order to vary the relative positions of the opposed panes 3, so that they are either vertically disposed or inclined towards or away from each other. A series of spaced beams 1 may be employed with two long angle irons 4 to form a row of cloches, and if necessary, with varying positions of the panes.
