[Class 135] [Also in Group XXVII] A seat for a rotary spherical, cylindrical, or conical valve or a packing for the movable closure member itself comprises a split packing ring A, having a conical peripheral surface, which co-operates with a similarly shaped seating to press the ring against the rotary or oscillating internal-combustion engine valve R and a slot engaged by a peg to prevent rotation. The inner face of the ring R may be spherical or conical, and a solid ring may be placed between the split ring and the valve.
