Abstract

612,911. Polishing floors &c. JOHNSON, E. A. M. June 6, 1946, No. 17164. [Class 138 (i)] A polish-applying machine comprises a drum 7 adapted to be rolled over the floor, a roller 12 inside the drum for ejecting the polish through one or more slits 15 in the drum, a hinged lid 18, whereby polish may be introduced into the drum, and a polish - spreading brush 3 connected to the drum by a frame 1 to which a handle 26 is pivotally connected. The drum comprises a main part 17 and the lid 18, the latter being held closed by a clip 20. The slit 15 is formed by a gap between one edge of the lid and the part 17 and is adjustable in width by means of a slidable, plate 21. The roller 12 is carried by a bar 13 on parallel limbs 14. Polish is prevented from massing between the limbs by the jolting action of a heavy metal ball 23 loose inside the drum. The drum revolves about shafts 6 having inverted V-shaped end portions engaging similarly shaped brackets 4 and removably held in place by clips 24. The frame 1 of the machine may be attached to an electrical &c. polishing machine.
