Abstract
611,273. Temperature alarms. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. April 26, 1946, No. 12611. Convention date, April 28, 1945. [Class 47 (i)) The overheating &c. of a bearing 1 cooled by water passed through a coil 3 is indicated by an electrical signal device operated by a change in temperature difference between the water supply 4 and exhaust 6 through electrical resistance members 7, 8 arranged respectively in a well 5 and the upper part of the pipe 6. The members 7, 8 are connected in series with exciting coils 21, 22 of a balanced relay having fixed contacts 25, 26 which are engaged by contact 27 or 28 on energization of coil 21 or 22 to operate a signal 30 or 31 to indicate a too great or too small temperature difference. A variable resistance 29 is provided for adjustment purposes.
