Abstract
610,701. Linear-dimension gauges. STANDARD GAGE CO., Inc. April 15, 1946, No. 11535. Convention date, Jan. 5, 1946. [Classes 106 (ii) and 106 (iv)] A dial indicator having a pointer mounted on a shaft and a backlash eliminating means has the backlash spring fixed at one end to the pointer shaft and at the other end to means rotatable about the pointer shaft to adjust the tension of the backlash spring. The backlash means comprises a spring 19, one end of which is fixed to a collar 18 on the shaft 16, the other end being attached to a pin 20. This pin 20 is fastened to an annular ring 22 which is rotatable in a groove 23 and which may be fixed in its adjusted position by a screw 25.
