Abstract
610,275. Salt-cake furnaces. HUNTING- TON, HEBERLEIN, & CO., Ltd., and MARKWARD, H. G. B., (formerly Marckwald, H. G. B.). April 3, 1946, No. 10313. [Classes 51(i) and 51(ii)] In a salt-cake furnace, the muffle 1 is heated by gases from the combustion chamber 12, said gases being recirculated through ducts 7, 10 and 11 by a motordriven fan 9, part of the gases being byepassed up the chimney 19. Small quantities of cooling secondary air may be supplied at 7 by a fan 25, or if the fan 9 should break down fan 25 may supply cold secondary air at 11, combustion products then proceeding straight to the chimney 19 by a duct 28. Gases passing to the chimney may be used for drying the charged material. Specifications 281,028, 285,475, 304,284, [all in Class 51(i)], and 603,624 are referred to.
