609,954. Tapping nuts. NICHOLS (TOOLS), Ltd., R., NICHOLS, R., PLESSEY CO., Ltd., and BARLOW, B. V. March 26, 1946, No. 9338. [Class 83 (iii)] The feeder-actuating mechanism of a tapping- machine (in which the work-pieces travel along and are discharged from the end of the tap) comprises fluid-operating means for advancing the feeder towards the tap. The operating fluid, preferably air, is fed' to the cylinder n and forces the piston m and lever h upwards to maintain the follower i<SP>1</SP> in contact with the cam k. The blanks are delivered along the channel d and are fed singly to the tap f by the upper end of the feeder e. The nuts travel up the top shank g until released.
