Abstract
468,351. Air-blast valves in punch presses etc.; brackets. BURGESS, A. F. (Littell Machine Co., F. J.) Feb. 18, 1937, No. 4911. [Class 135] [Also in Groups XIV, XVI, and XXII] A cam-operated valve, particularly for controlling delivery of a blast of air to the work in a punch press or other machine, is mounted with various adjustments to permit its ready location with respect to the cam. The valve 18 admits pressure air from pipe 76 to pipe 17 leading to the nozzle, on actuation of its stem 20 through a lever 23 which is pivoted at 24 on the valve body and is rotated by the cam acting on roller 25. The device as a whole is secured on a standard 38, with rotary adjustment in two planes, by a split sleeve 30, the bolt 33 of which passing through the two ends thereof passes also through a second split sleeve 37, on the standard 38. The standard 38 further is mounted on the machine frame by a friction ball-and-socket joint at one end.
