[Class 6(i)] A seed-sowing machine comprises a wheeled hopper 3 within which is a rotatable brush 5 adapted to eject seeds through an apertured disc 4 co-operating with a rockable closure plate 8, the plate being mounted on a spindle 7 carrying a toothed member with one of a series of toothed wheels. In the form shown, an axle 1 carrying land wheels 2 passes through, and supports, the hopper 3, the rotatable brush 5, mounted on the axle 1 within the hopper. ejects seeds therefrom through one of a series of holes of various sizes in the apertured plate 4 rbtatably secured to the rear wall of the hopper. The plate' 8, mounted. on one end of a rockable arm 6, periodically closes the appropriate aperture in the plate 4 to interrupt the flow of seeds. The arm 6 is fixed to the spindle 7 which is rocked by the engagement between a toothed member carried by the spindle and one of a series of toothed wheels mounted on the axle 1. The ejected seeds pass down a tube 13 and enter the ground behind a tine 14 integral with the tube. An arm 15 pivoted at the rear of the hopper carries furrow-closing shares 17, a soil-consolidating roller 16 and drill-marking tools 20. A soil-levelling device 18 is mounted on the front of the hopper to precede the tine 14. The wheels 2 drive the axle 1 through freewheel clutches (not shown).
