Abstract

607,800. Shafts. MACHINEFABRIEK GEB. STORK & CO. N.V. Feb. 11, 1946, No. 4256. Convention date, July 27, 1944. [Class 80 (ii)] The driving shaft 7, 1 of a fan 2 operating in hot gases is formed with two discs 4, 6 connected by pin-like members 5 near their peripheries and has means to promote a flow of cooling air between the discs. The means may consist of radial vanes 9 and holes 10 in the disc 6, or the members 5 may form small radial vanes and the cooling air be admitted through a hollow bore of the driving shaft 7.
