Abstract
607,511. Manure distributers. MASSEYHARRIS, Ltd., RESEARCH ENGINEERS, Ltd., and DAIN, G. R. Feb. 6, 1946. No. 3793. [Class 6(i)] In a machine for distributing artificial fertilizer and the like, comprising a troughlike hopper 1 containing material which is delivered through openings to a series of dish-like discharge pans 2 rotatably mounted about vertical axes, the material being spread by a series of spreaders or flickers which dip into the discharge pans, the flow of material from the hopper is controlled by a series of shutters 4, lying vertically in the pans and mounted on fixed axes 5, the shutters dipping into the discharge pans to a greater or less extent when adjusted, to vary the amount of material discharged. The shutters 4 are pivoted to a link 7 which is connected to a handlever 11 for varying the shutter positions, the link 7 being locked in the desired position by means of a wing nut 15.
