Abstract

606,718. Heat radiators. BUSHELL, E. R. Jan. 16, 1946, No. 1570. [Class 126] A slow-combustion stove includes an elongated air-tight fire-box 10, having an air inlet damper 15, a first elongated radiator 16 communicating with the fire-box by a first pair of tubular supports 17, 18, disposed respectively on opposite sides of the middle transverse plane x-x of the firebox and of the radiator, a second elongated hollow radiator 21 spaced from the fire-box and the first radiator and communicating with the first radiator by a second pair of tubular supports 22, 23, disposed on opposite sides of plane x-x, and means 26 for discharging flue gases from the second radiator, the flow area of one of each of the pairs of supports being substantially smaller than that of the other, and the supports of smaller flow area being on opposite sides of plane x-x. Baffles 19, 24 with holes 20, 25 are fitted at the inner ends of supports 17, 23 to reduce their flow areas. The main flow of hot gases is through the fully open supports, the flow through holes 20, 25 keeping supports 17, 23, heated.
