606,171. Sharpening devices. COSSOR, Ltd., A. C., and TIPPING, W. F. March 7, 1946, No. 7138. [Class 60] A sharpening device for knives and similar tools comprises an electric motor 1 mounted with its spindle 2 vertical, the spindle carrying at its upper end a grinding wheel 3 with the flat surface 4 uppermost, a casing 5, enclosing the motor 1, the spindle 2, and the lower part of the grinding wheel, provided with a clamp 6 for fixing the device to a table or the like and, integral with the casing, and on the top thereof, a wedge-shaped member 7 sloping down towards the upper or grinding surface 4 of the said wheel 3 and projecting slightly over it so as to form a guide in order that a knife or the like can be correctly located for sharpening.
