Abstract

602,778. Wall ties. KING, L. Nov. 19, 1945, No. 31049. [Class 20(iv)] The outer and inner sets of the brickwork of cavity walls are tied by rods 4 having offset portions 3 received in the frogs 9 of the bricks. The ends of the rods are tapped to receive bolts 12 by which the ties are tensioned, the bolts being removed after the mortar 10 has set. The intermediate portion 1 of the rod may also be offset and wedge shaped portions, on which washers 7 slide, may be formed thereon. The ties may be applied to walls built from the units described in Specification 558.234,
