[Class 69 (i)] [Also in Group XIX] In a gauging-device for linear-dimensions, employing fluid flow through a leakage path between the gauge and work-piece and comprising a casing for a tube through which air or other fluid flows to displace a weight indicator, a back plate for the casing is readily removable and carries the tube with its supporting and clamping means, a filter housing, and a fluid-pressure regulating- valve. As shown, the casing 10 is grooved at 20 and 23 to receive respectively the base of a back plate 19 and a catch 21 thereon operated by a knob 22. A tapered tube 12, in which is a weight 13, is supported on a housing for an air filter 35, and clamped by a spring arm 46, the housing and arm being secured to the back plate. Air is supplied under pressure in piping through a regulating-valve 30 and shut-off valve 31, secured to the back plate, and a pipe 33 to the air filter housing, then up through the tube 12 to piping 53 connected to an outlet 15. A scale 56 behind the tube 12 rests in grooves in the filter housing and is held at the upper end by the spring arm 46. The filter pad in the air filter can be removed by unscrewing a cap 39. A passage 40 provided with a removable plug 41 collects any liquid from the filter. To prevent the weight 13 from sticking to the top of the tube 12 and to discharge any electrical charge thereon, a metal finger 63 on a spider 64 is secured in the top of the tube.
