Abstract

Flow meters, pressureactuated.-Apparatus for indicating commencement or cessation of flow of fluid in a conduit, applicable to fire -extinguishing systems, comprises a member, such as a diaphragm E, acted on by the pressures in the conduit at the points a, b, and carrying an armature F co-operating with a magnet M. When the diaphragm &c. moves, the magnet is moved, by gravity or spring means, to complete an electric alarm circuit. In order to increase the difference of pressure between the points a, b, the conduit has a constricting device, such as a flap valve I.
