[Class 18] A case for cigarettes or the like has a flexible outer cover 1 fitted with a closure flap 2 and a metal inner member 3 of tray like form, and a plate 6 is provided to cover the open front of the tray-like member 3. The inner member 3 has flanges 4 on two sides and on the bottom 5 and the cover plate 6 has flanges 7 on the sides which may fit inside or outside the flanges 4 on the inner member. A lip 8 at the top engages with the edge of the front member of the outer case. The flanges 7 may be tapered at their lower ends for ease of entry into the cover. The plate 6 leaves the member 3 uncovered at the upper part to facilitate access to the contents.
