Abstract
A flotation promoter for non-sulphide ores amenable to anionic flotation comprises a mixture of from 1 to 25 parts of oil-soluble petroleum sulphonates with 25 parts to one part of water-soluble petroleum sulphonates. A sulphuric acid-treated oxidized iron ore or a garnet ore may be concentrated by froth flotation using a mixture of from 1 to 10 parts of oil soluble with 10 to 1 parts of water-soluble petroleum sulphonates. Other ores which may be concentrated are cement rock, limestone, rhodochrosite, coal barite, scheelite, celestine, cassiterite, kyanite, chromite and pebble phosphate.
