Abstract
563,045. Treating bauxite. AMERICAN CYANAMID CO. Sept. 29, 1942, No. 13681. Convention date, Oct. 21, 1941. [Class 82 (i)] [Also in Group III] Low grade bauxite ore is crushed if necessary, made into a pulp with water and agitated to convert the' silicate-bearing gangue into a water-dispersible form'. It is then deslimed, e.g. by hydraulic classification or wet-screening. The agitation may. be effected in any machine which does not unduly disintegrate the ore, a Fagergren flotation machine being particularly suitable. The duration of treatment may be five minutes.
