Abstract
599,255. Stoppers. JACOBSOHN, W. R. J. April 6, 1944, No. 6427. [Classes 66 and 125 (iii) ] A closure for containers for liquids, semiliquids, pastes or the like comprises an externally screw-threaded container neck 2 having apertures 5 arranged in a groove 12 around the centre line of the neck and sealed by the inside face of a screwthreaded cap 7 having a port 10 at the top and co-operating with the neck. A frusto-conical plug 4, provided in the centre of the top of the neck, enters the port, but comes into contact with it only at the outer end of the plug, an annular space of substantially triangular cross-section being left between plug and port wall. Sealing rings 3, 11, may be provided. A full thread 6, or a few turns 6<1>, 6<11>, at top and bottom of neck, may be provided. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the apertured externally threaded part may itself be separate from and screwed on to an ordinary container neck.
