Abstract
598,387. Bolt fastenings. KEARNEY, A. R. Aug. 8, 1945, No. 20271. [Class 44] In a bolting device of the espagnolette type in which the bolts are connected to a pair of slides 9, 10, adapted to be moved in opposite directions in a casing by rotation of a member 5 carrying pins 6, 7 which engage in transverse slots 20 in the slides, the latter are provided with looking recesses which receive the pins or part of the same so as to lock the bolts in shot position. Locking recesses may also be arranged to co - operate with the pins to lock the bolts in the withdrawn position. For this purpose the slides, shaped as shown in Fig. 4, are provided with recesses 23, 25 at the ends, which receive the pins when the bolts are shot, (Fig. 2), and with recesses 22, 24 in which the pins engage when the bolts are withdrawn, (Fig. 1). The slides are made of half the inside width of the casing, so that guides are not necessary, and a cover plate 28 retains them in the casing.
