Abstract
597,802. Weighing-apparatus. VANDOME & HART, Ltd., and FITZGERALD, F. C. Aug. 27, 1945, No. 22016. [Class 143] A weighing machine of the kind wherein a pair of pendulum weights each carried by an arm of a two-armed lever, pivoted one each side of the centre of a dial casing housing a pointer and scale, the other arms having sectors over which pass flexible tapes connected at their lower ends to a compensating lever which is responsive to movements of the load platform and is connected to the pointer-actuating mechanism, has each pendulum weight and its pivotal point on opposite sides of the centre of the casing. Movements of a load platform or receiver 3 are transmitted by a lever system 2 and link 4 to a lever 6 connected by tapes 23 to sector-cam surfaces 12 of levers 10, pivoted at 11 within the dial casing 7 on opposite sides of the centre' thereof. Each lever 10 has a limb 10a, cranked to extend to the side of the casing remote from the pivot, and bent to form an arm portion 10c extending across the casing and carrying a spindle 14 for an adjustable pendulum weight 13. The limbs 10a also carry horizontal spindles 20 for weights 21. The central pivot 24 of the lever 6 also mounts a rack bar 25 which rotates a pinion 26 to actuate pointers 9, one on each side of the casing.
