Abstract
597,687. Building. JANECEK, F. K. Nov. 8, 1944, No. 8743. [Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] A method of building comprises laying a course of blocks, jacking up the complete course, laying a second course beneath the first which is then lowered on to the second and the second and first are then jacked up together. A third course is then laid beneath the others which are then lowered on to the third and all three jacked up together, the operations being repeated until the requisite height is attained. The blocks comprise alternate members 10 and 12. The members 10 are grooved at their ends as shown in Fig. 2 and downwardly projecting hooks 15 are received in apertured ears 14 projecting from the other members 12. The initial portion of the upward movement of the jack arms 17 raises the newly inserted member 12 to engage the ears 14 with the hooks 15, further upward movement of the jacks raising the whole course, with the upper courses, sufficiently for a new course to be laid beneath the one just completed. All the jacks are operated simultaneously with a similar lifting effect.
