596,927. Prefabricated panels. WYNMALEN, H., and POWELL, J. W. July 3,. 1945, No. 16942. [Classes 20(ii) and 20(iv)] A prefabricated panel for use in building construction has at its upper or leading end a hook-shaped clip to engage a supporting member and to draw the panel tightly by a wedge-like action against the said supporting member and also has at its lower or following end a doubly-hooked or S-shaped clip with an inclined face to embrace the upper clip of an adjacent panel and to draw the panels tightly together by a wedge-like action when the panels are superimposed on one another. As shown in Fig. 1, the top hook d of a lower panel A is supported by the inclined face c<1> of a rail member c, and the bottom hook e of an upper panel B is pressed down over the hook so that both panels are held tightly against the rail c and against each other. A weathering apron f, Fig. 7, may be inserted in the joint between the hooks and suitable locating stops may be secured to the supporting member c so that the hooked members are compelled to take up the correct position and to be fixed therein. As applied to roofing panels having roll type side joints, the panel Fig. 11 has top and bottom hooked clips d and c, an under-roll n notched at n<1> on one side and an over-roll o on the other.
