Abstract
595,694. Electric radiators. ERALITE MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and WRAY, E. J. April 18, 1945, No. 9721. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric heater has a helically coiled or other resistance element b disposed between a corrugated front panel a and a backplate c, the space behind the backplate being surrounded by a flange having openings a<1> permitting circulation of air between the backplate and a wall to which the heater may be secured. The panel a may be of moulded asbestos cement, the backplate c having projecting ribs d contacting the element. Alternatively, the panel may be of a heat-resisting metal, the backplate having brackets with insulating eyelets through which the resistance element is threaded so as to be supported out of contact with the panel, Figs. 7, 8 and 9 (not shown). The heater may also be made portable and may incorporate a switch to turn off the current if the heater is liable to overturn. According to the Provisional Specification the element may be moulded in the material of the panel.
