Abstract

595,100. Float-actuated valves. ABEY, E. L. June 20, 1945, No. 15714. [Class 135] A float-actuated cistern supply valve comprises a body 1 formed with a cylindrical chamber 18 having an inlet orifice controlled by a conical rubber closure member 15, and merged with a bell-shaped skirt. The closure member is secured in the head 13 of a plunger having a clearance between it and the chamber to form an outlet therefrom of cross-sectional area less than that of the orifice. The skirt has lugs 9 carrying the fulcrum pin 8 of the float lever 7 which passes under the mouth of the skirt and between guide legs 19 and is secured by a pin 17 to the slotted end 16 of the plunger rod.
