Abstract
593,001. Presses. FOSTER, YATES, & THOM, Ltd., and WELMAN, D. POLE-. June 6, 1945, No. 14296. [Class 140] In a press comprising a fixed platen i and movable platens a-h, heating medium, e.g. steam is supplied and exhausted to and from the movable platens through a header m at each side of the press, the connection to each platen being by a pipe x sliding in a stuffing- box at the top of one of the compartments n-u in the header. The upper end of each pipe x is connected to a pipe z which extends along the platen and is connected at its ends. The heating medium is supplied to the header by a valve j. The base of the header can be hori - zontal or inclined as shown.
