Abstract

592,815. Projection screens. TAYLOR, TAYLOR, & HOBSON, Ltd., and MoADAM, F. A. May 25, 1945, No. 13085. [Class 97 (i)] A translucent screen for use with optical projection apparatus comprises two contacting or adjacent diffusing surfaces extending, and relatively movable, in directions transverse to the axis of projection of light on the screen. As shown, two ground glass plates A1, A2 are disposed with ground surfaces in contact, one being fixed in a frame D1, the other being eccentrically mounted in a frame F which is rotatable by means of a worm F2 engaging a worm-wheel F1 formed in the periphery of the frame F. The rotational movement may be continuous or oscillatory. In another form, the plates are spaced apart and are both oscillated linearly by cams so phased that both screens are never stationary at once. The two screen surfaces may be inclined to one another, or curved, and may be lenticular or constituted by a fabric base carrying a translucent filling.
