[Class 136 (ii)] [Also in Groups XXII and XXXIV] Wheel hubs or pedals for cycles comprise a tubular barrel a having reduced ends h electrically welded within sockets f in end members b which in the case of hubs are formed with bearing-caps g and spoke-flanges d; or, are provided in the end-plates of pedals. To produce a more even weld, a sleeve i of modulating-material such as brown paper or linseed-oil impregnated fabric, is fitted on the reduced end of the barrel a and is progressively destroyed during the weld.
