[Class 52 (ii)] A chair back a is pivoted adjacent its centre on a pin a<1> rotatably mounted on an arm b, which may be adjustably mounted within a clamping socket or jaws forming part of the underframe of the seat, a spring c on each side of the pin a<1> has one end c<2> bearing on a back plate a<2> and the other end c' anchored in a hole b<2 >in a depression b<1> of the arm b. A slot a<3> in the back plate forms a limiting stop for the seat back in its inclined position.
