[Class 38 (i)] A socket 15 for a small bulb 20 has a smooth bore 22 for the lamp base 24 and spaced transverse contacts 17, 18 in the bore to engage the bulb terminals. The contact 17 has a U-shaped tip 27, 28 which engages the screwed portion 31 of the bulb and, while causing the bulb endterminal 30 to abut the contact 18, clamps a socket portion 16a against the bulb shoulder 33 to prevent the loosening of the bulb due to vibration. Several sockets may be formed contiguously in one length of strip, Fig. 1 (not shown), or each socket may be formed individually. The sockets may be secured on a panel 11.
