Abstract
586,236. Fuzes for aerial bombs &c. HEBARD, H. C., and IMBER RESEARCH, Ltd. Oct. 26, 1944, No. 20873. [Class 9 (i)] An air-arming device for an aerial bomb or pyrotechnic device comprises a casing o, a wind vane carried by a spindle mounted axially in the casing, a wheel a which is rotated by the spindle and a two-armed lever c, d pivoted on the wheel a, of which the arm c is forced outwards, Fig. 3, by a predetermined centrifugal force to trip a hammer q, pivoted at r, causing the detonation of a cap l. The lever c, d and hammer q are normally held in position by springs f and u, respectively. The cap l is connected by passages m, n to the main charge.
