Abstract

Plastic products capable of being moulded at room temperatures are obtained from liquid methyl silicones, obtained by hydrolysing a mixture of dimethyl silicon dichloride and methyl silicon trichloride containing between 20 and 80 per cent of each component, by heating the liquid mixture at 100-200 DEG C. until it gels and then transforming this non-mouldable gel into a plastic mass by kneading, e.g. in an edge runner mill. A filler consisting of ground polymerized silicones may be added to the mass.
