585,607. Diaphragm valves. SAUNDERS VALVE CO., Ltd., and KAYE, O. July 25, 1944, No. 14194. [Class 135] A rubber or like flexible diaphragm for a diaphragm valve is moulded in its substantially full open form as shown and with its edge portion 26 coned so that when it is clamped between the flat annular surfaces of the housing the annular portion 25 is put under tension. Thus when the curvature is reversed to close the valve passage the portion 25 is substantially unstressed and does not tend to form a rib or bulge.
